- You will feel altitude effects especially over Khardung La so take your time in Leh before heading to Nubra.
- The Nubra to Pangong stretch via Wari La and Chang La can be long tiring and rough but the river views make it worth it if you enjoy scenic challenge.
- Pangong at sunrise truly feels magical with changing blue shades and far fewer people early morning.
- Tso Moriri is quieter than Pangong and offers peaceful lake views with chances to spot yaks and nomadic life.
- Roads near Tso Moriri via Puga or Sumdo can be rough so pack a cushion for comfort and ask staff if longer stops allowed.
- Carry warm layers for overnight stays by the lakes as temperatures drop sharply after sunset.
- If you are staying near Pangong, try to catch sunrise by the shore and bring your own snacks water to avoid paying more later.
- Be wary of unexpected route closures via Shyok or Wari La, so have buffer time or alternate route in mind.
