From Passprt Community
- You’ll breathe easier in Nubra than Leh because the valley is lower altitude and gives your lungs some relief after Khardung La.
- Road from Nubra to Pangong via Shyok is smoother now and saves a day vs returning to Leh first.
- Turtuk stays linger in memory with its apricot orchards and Balti warmth so plan to spend one peaceful night.
- Camel rides at Hunder dunes can be busy midday so try early morning for soft light and quieter experience.
- Mobile network fades quickly after Leh so download maps offline and carry enough cash for camps and camel ride.
- Avoid trying Nubra in one long day trip from Leh because altitude rush and no sightseeing will make it exhausting.
- Sunrise at Pangong is magical with water shifting from cobalt to turquoise, best with a relaxed overnight stay.
- Stargazing at Hunder or Sumur feels unreal if you step away from lights, give your eyes 10 minutes to adjust and soak it in.
