Where you'll be
From Passprt Community
- Download an offline audio guide (Rick Steves or similar) before you reach the site to avoid frustration from weak signal up top.
- Go either first thing in the morning or late afternoon to beat crowds and heat and catch that golden light on the ruins.
- Bring comfy shoes water sunscreen and a hat because walking on the marble stairs can be slippery and sun beats down hard.
- Apps may freeze crash or misplace locations so be ready to rely on onsite signs or your own notes if tech fails.
- If you want photos without people frame your shots early or later when tour groups are less dense.
- You may still need to queue even with skip‑the‑line tickets so keep expectations realistic and carry some patience.
- Audio guides can feel short or disjointed and some reconstructions may not match the actual ruins so use them as a supplement not gospel.
- Be cautious if ticket‑only packages exclude entry and frustrate you with additional costs so double check before trusting full access.
