Day 2

Arusha to Tarangire National Park | Full Day Game Drive
After breakfast at your hotel, your driver-guide will collect you for the scenic drive to Tarangire National Park, approximately two and a half hours from Arusha. Known for its majestic elephant herds and iconic baobab trees, Tarangire offers a unique safari experience with an incredible variety of wildlife, including giraffes, bushbuck, hartebeest, lions, and leopards. Often described as a “lost world,” the Crater is a breathtaking natural wonder, featuring sweeping savannahs, dense woodlands, and sparkling lakes. Here, you will have the opportunity to spot large populations of wildlife, including wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, and the endangered black rhino, all against the dramatic backdrop of the crater walls. After a morning game drive, continue your journey through the scenic Conservation Area, passing local villages and traditional Maasai lands, before entering the Serengeti National Park from the south. Depending on the season, you may witness parts of the famous Great Migration, where thousands of wildebeest and zebras traverse the plains in search of fresh grazing. After a fulfilling morning of wildlife sightings, enjoy lunch at your camp before beginning the scenic journey back to Karatu. Along the way, keep your camera ready for additional wildlife encounters and dramatic landscapes. Upon arrival, settle into your lodge for dinner and overnight, recounting the unforgettable experiences of the Serengeti.

Enjoy a morning game drive and take in the incredible scenery while photographing wildlife in their natural habitats. A picnic lunch will be served in the park, allowing you to relax before being transferred back to Arusha. Upon arrival, your safari concludes with a drop-off at the airport or your chosen location.
Where you'll be
From Passprt Community
- Start your game drives early in the morning; wildlife is most active around sunrise, and it’s the best time for photos.
- Pack a pair of binoculars; some animals, especially predators, can be spotted only from a distance.
- Always listen to your guide during game drives; they know the parks and wildlife behavior best.
- Carry layers of clothing; mornings and evenings can be chilly, while afternoons in the safari vehicle can get hot.
- Cameras with a zoom lens are highly recommended; wildlife is often at a distance.
- Limit your noise during drives; loud talking or music can scare animals away.
- For Lake Manyara, keep an eye on tree-climbing lions - they can appear unexpectedly!
- Don’t overpack your day bag; only essentials like water, a camera, binoculars, and a light jacket are needed.
- Be ready for long drives - some transfers between parks can take 2–4 hours, so plan snacks and hydration accordingly.
