From Passprt Community

  • Go early, around 6:00 AM - 7:00 AM, when the place is peaceful, the light is soft and golden for photos, and parking is easier before the crowds arrive.
  • Wear proper shoes and carry water, as the paths can get muddy, slippery, and steep once you venture inside the terraces.
  • Note that the terraces feel quite staged now, with many gimmicks and cafés above—so if you seek authenticity, explore lesser‑known nearby rice fields.
  • When exploring, stick to the central valley areas and main loops; the northern, overgrown zones are less scenic and harder to navigate.
  • Remember that the paths form a loop with no shortcuts back, so plan your exit route carefully before setting off.
