The early history of Hyderabad is the story of the Qutub Shahi dynasty, during whose time the city was built. The Kingdom of Golkonda was arguably the richest in the world during its time. Being home to the only diamond mine in the world and a thriving center of trade and commerce, it is no surprise that Golkonda under the Qutub Shahis can lay claim to the title of Kingdom of the Diamonds.
In a small-group half-day tour lasting 4 hours, we will visit two of the best-preserved sites from the Qutub Shahi period – the Golkonda Fort and the necropolis of the Qutub Shahi kings. Listen to the stories of the men and women who founded Hyderabad.
