From Passprt Community

  • Make sure you get a good night’s sleep before your first dive; being well-rested helps you stay alert underwater.
  • Stay hydrated, but avoid heavy meals right before diving to prevent discomfort.
  • If you’re a first-time diver, try to relax and breathe slowly; panicking uses more air and can spoil the experience.
  • Keep your mask and snorkel clean and free of fog; anti-fog spray works well.
  • Check your equipment carefully before each dive; even small leaks or misfits can affect your dive.
  • Don’t forget sunscreen for the boat rides, but use reef-safe products to protect marine life.
  • Take your time equalizing pressure when descending; rushing can hurt your ears.
  • Bring a waterproof camera or GoPro if you want photos, but focus first on learning the skills.
  • Avoid alcohol the night before diving; it affects hydration and your body’s ability to handle pressure changes.
