From Passprt Community

  • Plan your runs carefully; heli-skiing drops can be intense, so choose slopes that match your skill and energy level.
  • Give your gear a quick once-over before each run; even small issues can become tricky out in the backcountry.
  • Pay attention to your guide; terrain changes fast, and their local knowledge can keep you safe.
  • Keep altitude and weather in mind; even seasoned skiers tire more quickly on high peaks and deep powder.
  • Take breaks when needed; pushing too hard can lead to mistakes or fatigue.
  • Be mindful of avalanche safety; always carry your transceiver, probe, and shovel, and know how to use them before you hit the slopes.
  • Respect the natural terrain; avoid skiing in unmarked or dangerous zones, even if they look tempting.
  • Stay hydrated and snack often; backcountry skiing uses more energy than resort runs.
  • Capture the moments safely; never attempt photos or videos while skiing or boarding - stop in a safe area to avoid accidents.
